"It is difficult to connect with anyone or anything"

I disagree with this comment because, yes, although there are some people who are very shy and maybe socially akward, they can at least have a connection with others in their lives.  Those kinds of people have many chances to connect with other people or things, like animals and nature, throughout their lives.  The connection does not have to be grand; it can be a relationship with close friends or even family.  People who are not shy have it easier.  If they are not timid around others, they can have connections with others, even relationships easier.  These are the people who have high self esteem in themselves, and do not mind having different connections with different kinds of people.  It may be easier for them to have connections with others than a shy person, but both are capable to have a connection with friends, family, and nature.  Even nature with animals can connect with a person.  A pet can be a huge deal in one's life, either that it makes a person happy or relaxes them by seeing them.  To have a connection, it does not have to be difficult, just as long as the person is willing to accept the connection.

  1. I agree 100%-- anyone can make a connection with someone, all you have to do is try. Think about children with disabilities such as autism, down syndrome, blindness or being deaf. While they may have weaknesses when it comes to communication, these kids aren't any different than you or I. All you have to do is try...all you have to do is talk to them, show them that you care, help them and give them attention. Connection is possible, there is just a different way of doing it. whether its using sign language, noises, toys, animals or bright colors for instance. the personality of the individual determines how easy they be to connect with. There is always something that 'breaks the ice'...you just have to figure out what it is.

I like how you also mentioned that some have it easier than others when it comes to connecting with people. for some, it takes quite a bit of effort to even speak up, let alone hold a steady conversation.

  2. I didn't even think about people with disabilities. That is a great example of how, eventhough some may not be able to hear, talk, or see, does not mean they still can't communicate with others. This is a great point because no matter what, people can still connect with one another. I'm thinking now, also, all the different ways people can communicate; they can call, text, email, facebook, etc. If a person is shy and cannot talk to another peer in person, they can still communicate in many alternatives.
